School Enrollment in the United States: 2008

This report from the U.S. Census Bureau discusses school enrollment levels and trends in the U.S. population ages 3 and older based on data collected in 2008 from the American Community Survey (ACS) and the Current Population Survey (CPS). Highlighted findings include the decrease of enrollment in grades 1 through 12 from 50 million in 2000 to 49.3 million in 2008, a shift from part time kindergarten to full time kindergarten, and more females than males are enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs through colleges and universities.
