This report examines a sample of approximately one-third of public high school graduates in the state of Massachusetts and how they are performing in public postsecondary institutions. The findings indicated that 33% enrolled in a public Massachusetts postsecondary institution, over a third enrolled in one developmental (remedial) course in their first semester. 80% of first-time, full-time degree seeking students reenrolled for a second year of college, and remediation rates varied based on student group.
