Taking Action on Education and Workforce Preparedness

This brief, authored by the Business Roundtable, is designed to provide states with concrete policy recommendations that will help ensure that students are properly prepared to become effective and highly skilled members of the workforce. The policy recommendations presented in this brief are clustered around five priority areas: adopting the Common Core State Standards, encouraging students to pursue STEM careers, developing more effective teachers, expanding access to high quality early learning opportunities, and ensuring secondary and postsecondary education programs align with workforce needs.
