How Student and School Characteristics are Associated with Performance on the Maine High School Assessment

This study examined how student characteristics, prior achievement measures, and school characteristics are associated with students’ Maine High School Assessment scores in reading, writing, math, and science. Findings indicated several significant predictors including gender, socio-economic status, IEP status, English proficiency, and prior test scores.
