On the Front Lines of Schools: Perspectives of Teachers and Principals on the High School Dropout Problem

Unpublished

This report sponsored by Civic Enterprises discusses teacher and principal perspectives about the high school dropout problem. The authors compare these perspectives to the perspectives of students and families to expose an expectations gap. Recommendations include developing clearer and higher standards aligned with college admissions, improved communication between principals, teachers, families, and students, and redesign of secondary schools to alternative models.
